Martial Art Magazine Collection up for auction!
Greetings. Over the past thirty-three years of training in the arts, I have amassed a massive collection of martial arts memorabilia including thousands of magazines, some dating back to the 1950s. In so doing, I now have many duplicates that I will be auctioning off. This collection of overstock includes approximately 600 magazines such as “Black Belt”, “Official Karate”, “Inside Kung Fu”, and “Karate Illustrated”, as well as more obscure titles like “Fighting Stars”, “Oriental Fighting Arts”, “Samurai” and “World Karate”.
Highlights of this collection include several issues of the scarce title, “Martial Arts of China”, the very first issue of “Oriental Fighting Arts”, a very rare 1961 edition of “American Judo Digest”, many early issues of “Black Belt” magazine including issues #4 & #6 as well as the very first “Black Belt Yearbook” from 1968, which features early articles on Shorinji Kempo and Bruce Lee!
As a special bonus, the winning bidder will receive a copy of the very first issue of “Black Belt” magazine! That’s right, not a reprint but an original copy of the one that started it all!
Here’s how the auction works; the opening bid for the collection is only $350. That’s only fifty cents per issue compared to the astronomical price you pay for a current issue off the newsstands today. Directly below, is the current high bid. Interested buyers must submit bids by emailing me here . Please include your name and contact information with all bids. The auction ends Thursday, November 30, at midnight. Upon completion of the auction, I will contact the winning bidder and make arrangements to personally drop off the collection myself.
